"A very wet and rather warm winter, fortuitously preceded an extremely hot May and intensely hot, dry summer. September yielded a few days of extreme heat which dramatically helped the grapes to reach full ripeness. Medium-dark magenta color with a tawny influenced center and light pink meniscus. An intense bouquet of strawberry, toffee, slight VA and mahogany is wonderfully compelling. Wow, this a nice number that is sumptuous and voluptuous, smooth and balanced. A touch hot, but it didn't distract me too much. Bright flavors with potent cherry and plum fruit and a solid, persistent finish with enough grip to drink well for a couple more decades. A brilliant mature Port with legs! 95 points"
