For the Port of Love med Roy Hersh giver følgende ord med på vejen og giver hele 95 point "Part of a great local VP tasting with an impressive lineup from a deep / mature cellar, this bottle was tied for my Port of the night. Medium scarlet color with a pink edge. Filled with fragrances and flavors of ripe raspberry, black cherry, pine and spicy peppermint; this is a massively concentrated Dow's with a refined soft mouthfeel. Possessing bold blackstrap tannins and gobs of zippy acidity, the symmetry here was breathtaking. Given the mid-palate depth and extraordinary length of the finish of this bottle, it has literally been a decade since I've had a '77 Dow that provided this much pleasure. If ever there was a VP described as the "iron fist in a velvet glove," this was it. Near perfect bottles like this can easily deliver 2-3 decades of upside potential.
