For the Port of Love: "Throughout most of the 1990s this was my "house VP" always available to those visiting, as I had purchased several cases at prices never to be seen again. So it's always a treat for me to revisit this particular Port, just like an old friend. Medium-deep shade of strawberry color with a wide pink/light tawny meniscus. On Thanksgiving Eve my brother returned from the cellar and decanted for sediment and although it had no time to really open up, it smelled great with fresh strawberry, spicy cinnamon and graham cracker notes along with mace and pine to really sex it up. It exudes finesse, with a rich mink-like texture, tight rope walkers' balance and generous spicy redcurrant and sweet grenadine flavors. At thirty five years of age, Warre's '77 has entered its mature phase; and ends true to form with splendid length and enjoyment. Best bottles will show the love through the half-century mark. 'Twas shockingly good, considering the pop 'n pour scenario. 93 points 93 Points (2012-11-22)

Lidt om huset Warre's

Det ældste af de britiske portvinshuse. Allerede i 1729 bosatte Willian Warre sig i O’Porto og de har været der lige siden. Skotten Andrew James Symington kom til O’Porto i 1882 og han og efterfølgere har haft en stor indvirkning og Warre’s blev senere overtaget af Symington gruppen.

Warre’s laver klassiske vintageportvine med et klassisk engelsk aftryk – lakrids, dyb rød frugt og holdbar.
